Intoxication of any substance is injurious to health. It destroys an individual. It is very important to stay away from intoxication and if one does addicted then, he should try every possible method to get away from its clutch. An addict can never be healthy or happy . Addiction is like cutting one’s own feet with an axe. Intoxication numbs the nerves and makes the addict sleepy. The brain becomes inactive, impotency, the tongue thickens, there’s a loss of taste and the mouth does not open enough, kidney damage, cough and cold increases, and cavities fasten the process of loss of teeth. At a young age one feels old, and speech slows down.

The nervous system including the sensory nerves become inactive. There is a lack of vitality and the addict slowly and gradually surrenders to the path of self-destruction. Family and social life also get affected. Problems begin to brew among the family members and such disagreements also affect the social life of a person. This is also the reason for the increasing crime rates in society. Intoxicants are expensive when the addict is not able to purchase his regular dose. Some toxic substances are Tea, Coffee, Pan Masala, Gutka, Betel nuts, smoking, alcohol, drugs and many more nowadays mobile phones have also become toxic. These toxicants enter our body as our friends and destroy us by becoming our enemy. Any bad habit can lead to damages to our body whether it is smoking, drinking alcohol, tea, or coffee. Some ill effects of bad habits are :-

  • The immune system weakens due to which a person becomes prone to diseases such as excessive Boult of cold and cough, asthma and other respiratory problems.
  • Ulcers in the digestive system are aggravated by smoking and medicine too fails to cure them.
  • The chances of cancer increased.
  • These habits affect our physical and mental health and induce sleep.
  • The habit of intoxicants one’ s self may result in criminal activity.
  • An addict loses all control over his life and future. The efficiency of a person decreases.
